About my website
Not a major fan of the “personal brand” phrase but the concept behind this site is to build an online presence for myself, share my thoughts and ideas while hopefully building a following.
In complete authentic manner, be prepared for mild to severely mild cussing, aggressive view points on life \ business along with a constant reminder that the clock is ticking, as I believe there is no better time than the present.
It was only once, but I have been called a “business maniac” since I live, breath and dream about this shit all day, it really is my passion. So, many of the articles I post will be about business, mixed in with some random thoughts, pop culture, food, life and careers.
From lower middle class to….
Every now and then I will slide in some posts about my life. I grew up downriver (Michigan) and at a very early age was lucky enough to run the streets freely.
Those streets ranged from downriver to Southwest Detroit (Delray.) That autonomy allowed me to dream and develop a creative mind and the streets ended up making me harder than most of the college types (this lead to an advantage in most things in life.)
I was lucky enough to “escape” downriver as I ended up in the tech industry in my late teens. At the time it didn’t seem like a big deal but I was one of the youngest to receive the Microsoft MCSE certification in Michigan. That lead me deeper into tech, which helped me get consulting work at manufacturing companies and that allowed me to learn manufacturing.
Long story short, I caught wind of the headhunting industry and decided to use my knowledge in technology and manufacturing to build the leading search firm for those 2 sectors. This has snowballed in a holding company with more than a dozen brands under our umbrella.
And onto where??
I keep asking myself what is next? Besides my books Manufacturing Prosperity and 40 the new 60, I don’t have that answer yet.
Ever see those doctors that work until their 85+ and stayed sharp? That really is the end goal, to never retire and stay sharp.
It’s been beat into the ground but that old comment that “sharks have to keep moving to stay alive” well I need to keep moving.
Catch me on social media, I am in Detroit and Chicago often and maybe NYC. If time permits lets grab a drink, I always enjoy other peoples stories.
